A fourth-place finish at the FLW Walleye Tour event on Bays de Noc in Escanaba, Mich., secured Angler of the Year honors for Minn Kota Pro Staff Member Jason Przekurat. The Stevens Point, Wis., pro also captured FLW Walleye Angler of the Year honors in 2003. In addition to being the first two-time Angler of the Year winner, Przekurat is also the first FLW walleye pro to place in the top ten of three consecutive tournaments. The title gives Przekurat the top seed in the upcoming FLW Championship being held near Cleveland, Ohio....

Minn Kota Pro Jeff Koester teamed with Scott Rhodes to win the Cabela’s MWC Walleye Madness event held near Port Clinton, Ohio. The unique event featured two-man teams paired against each other in a bracketed tournament format. In the championship pairing, Koester and Rhodes brought in a final weight of 19 pounds, .85 ounces to take first place and a check for $11,800. Rhodes, a pro from Brookville, Ind., had his boat rigged with a Minn Kota Terrova 101 trolling motor, a Minn Kota Engine Mount 101 motor and a Humminbird 997c SI Combo....

Weighing in 15 pounds, 11 ounces of bass on the final day of competition, gave Minn Kota Pro Staff member Matt Herren his first victory on the FLW tour. The Trussville, Ala., pro captured the first-place spot by a mere 5 ounces at the FLW event held on Lake Dardanelle near Russellville, Ark. The win pocketed Herren $100,000 in prize money. Herren competes using a Minn Kota Maxxum Pro 101 trolling motor with Universal Sonar 2 and Humminbird 787c2 Combo and 987c Combo Fishing Systems....

Minn Kota Pros Mark Courts and Tommy Skarlis finished first and second respectively at the Pro Walleye Tour’s (PWT) 2008 Championship held on Saginaw Bay out of Bay City, Mich. Courts, grabbed top honors out of the field of the world’s 50 best walleye anglers by weighing in a three day total of 39.53 pounds. Skarlas had to settle for second with a total of 35.35 pounds. The victory netted Courts, from Harris, Min., cash and prizes valued at over $60,000....

Hager City, Wis., walleye pro Scott Fairbairn has claimed the points title in the all-encompassing WalleyeFIRST “Ironman” competition. Fairbairn was one of eight pros to qualify and compete in the unique event by participating in all three pro-level circuits in 2006. They included the Professional Walleye Tour Regional Division, the PWT Super Pro Division and the FLW Walleye Tour. Fairbairn won the Ironman title by compiling the most points throughout the season while competing on all three circuits. His victory secures a prepaid entry fee into a 2007 PWT tournament and several products from participating sponsors. A member of the Minn Kota and Humminbird pro staff, Faribairn can also lay claim to the Ironman trophy signifying the top all-around walleye pro, in regards to endurance and performance, for 2006....

Big waves caused by high winds cancelled the final day of competition at the Professional Walleye Tour (PWT) Regional Event held at Escanaba, Michigan, assuring victory for two-day leader Patrick Neu of Forestville, Wisconsin. This is the first year for the Minn Kota Pro on the PWT circuit and his first victory propelled him to Rookie of the Year honors for 2006. Neu finished with a total weight of 46.39 to edge out fellow Minn Kota Pro Tom Riley of Amery, Wisconsin. Neu earned $46,000 in cash and prizes for the win. ...

A victory at the PWT (Professional Walleye Tour) Super Pro event at Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota has given Minn Kota Pro Ron Seelhoff his second Angler of the Year title. The victory gives Seelhoff an unprecedented sixth title on the PWT circuit. The Burlington, Colorado-based pro edged out fellow Minn Kota Pro Sheldon Medinger by 1.3 pounds to secure the victory. The tournament win and Angler of the Year title by Seelhoff gave him over $100,000 in cash and prizes for the weekend....

Despite temperatures that topped out at 105 degrees, Minnesota professional fisherman Mark Courts won his first Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) Regional Event by boating a five-fish limit on each day of the competition. Courts finished with a total weight of 42.62 pounds to capture the win by a mere one-half pound. The tournament was at Lake Oahe near Mobridge, South Dakota. For the victory Courts received $54,294 (including a new walleye boat)....

The fourth career PWT (Professional Walleye Tour) win for Minnetrista, Minnesota Pro Bruce “Doc” Samson was a big one. The Minn Kota Pro Team member took first place in the Super Pro Series event held at Ottertail, Minnesota, earning a check for $55,000. Samson had a 3-day tournament total of 34 pounds, 39 ounces – 6 pounds better than the nearest competitor. This Super Pro Series, presented by Minn Kota, consists of invitational only tournaments matching the top 60 walleye pros on the PWT in competition. ...

Minn Kota Pro Peter Thliveros won the most prestigious event in his illustrious career by taking first place in Bassmater’s inaugural major tournament, “The Memorial” held near Fort Worth, Texas. In the process, the 17-year tour veteran from Florida pocketed the $250,000 first-place check. After making two initial cuts, Peter “T” outdistanced the five other finalists by sacking a two-day total of 25 pounds, 8 ounces. Thliveros has now surpassed the prestigious $1 million in career earnings....

Minn Kota Pro Alvin Shaw captured his first-ever Wal-Mart FLW Tour victory by catching the only five-bass limit of the day at Wheeler Lake to earn the $100,000 first-place prize. The State Road, N.C., angler’s winning weight in the final round was 24 pounds, 8 ounces. Kelly Jordon, another Minn Kota Pro, finished third and earned $25,000. Both Shaw and Jordon were running the Maxxum Pro 101 with Universal Sonar during the tournament....

Appleton, Wisconsin Pro Dean Arnoldussen took the title at the FLW Walleye Tour Event on Lake Erie with a four-day catch of 85 pounds, 9 ounces. Arnoldussen said that precise speed and boat control were key to his victory since he caught his fish tolling spinner rigs. Arnoldussen used a new prototype Minn Kota engine mounted electric trolling motor to execute his trolling pattern. He took home $87,000 for his victory....

The two-man Florida team of Rick Murphy (Homestead) and Scott Guthrie (Jacksonville) took the title at the FLW Redfish Series Eastern Division event held at Mayport, Florida. Over the two-day event, Minn Kota Pro Murphy teamed with Guthrie to catch four redfish weighing 26 pounds 4 ounces and took home the $25,000 first-place prize. Murphy and Guthrie used a Minn Kota Riptide with 80 pounds of thrust during the tournament....

Fishing in his home state of Florida, Peter E. Thliveros captured first place in the Citgo Bassmaster Tour event held on the Harris Chain of Lakes. The 44-year-old Thliveros brought in 19 pounds, 15 ounces of fish on the last day to earn the $100,000 first prize. The Minn Kota Pro from Jacksonville also won the Busch Heavyweight award for the final day catch and received an additional $2,000. This is the fourth victory for Peter T on the BASS circuit, his last win coming in 1997. Thliveros uses the new Minn Kota Maxxum Pro (with Lift-Assist) 101 lb trolling motor with Universal Sonar....

The first victory for Minn Kota Pro Kelly Jordon on the FLW Tournament circuit came in his 40th event and he did it in spectacular fashion. The Mineola, Texas angler caught four bass weighing 23 pounds on the last day of competition to take top honors in the first FLW Tournament of 2005. Jordon’s final day catch included an 8-pound 2-ounce whopper and a 6-plus pounder. For his winning effort at the Lake Okeechobee, Florida event, Jordon took home the $100,000 first-place prize money. Jordon uses a Minn Kota Maxxum 101 lb trolling motor with Universal Sonar....
