Popular TV show host and successful professional bass angler, Jimmy Houston, has been added to the Minn Kota pro staff.

“We are extremely excited to have Jimmy Houston on board with Minn Kota,” Director of Marketing Judy Douglas said. “Jimmy’s enthusiasm for the sport of fishing is contagious to all levels of anglers nationwide. His tournament experience, along with his commitment to the industry, will make Jimmy a very valuable member of our team.”

As a member of the pro staff, Houston will be responsible for promoting Minn Kota through product education and demonstrations in tournament competition and at industry events. In addition, Minn Kota will be a sponsor of the long-running “Jimmy Houston Outdoors” television program that currently airs on ESPN2.

“Minn Kota has just really developed better and better products, and as a result they’ve taken more and more market share,” Houston said. “Technology on the Minn Kota motors is far advanced of anything else that’s in the marketplace. I am really impressed.”

“The other thing is Minn Kota’s battery charger technology. That’s a tremendous part of the equation. The battery charger technology, in combination with the trolling motors, is a tremendous asset to have as a fisherman,” Houston added.

Houston has gained fame on the pro fishing circuit by qualifying fifteen times for the Bassmaster Classic, considered the Super Bowl of bass fishing. In addition, he has been named B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year twice. Houston’s countrywide popularity has been fostered by his 25-years of outdoor television experience with his shows “Jimmy Houston Outdoors” and “Jimmy’s Outdoor World.”
